I travel 2-3 months
each year to experience multicultural life. Most recent 2 month trip (May
- July 2016) to Italy, Vatican City State, Greece, Albania, Kosovo, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Romania,
Serbia, and Germany. My trip highlights include (1) hiked in the
beautiful Albania Alps, the 7-lake in Bulgaria, and the Ohrid Lake in Macedonia;
(2) strolled via Italian Renaissance and Cinque Terre coast; (3) toured the most beautiful underground place in the world: Salt
Mine of Turda and soaked/floated in the Ocna Sibiului Salt Lakes in Romania; (4)
sea kayak in Corfu, Greece; (5) wondered in numerous castles/fortress and
enjoyed the views from the tops; and (6) listened the Jazz in the Park and
outdoor Opera in Cluj, as well as Black Church Concert in Brasov, Romania. By the way, I took my 1st bla bla car ride
from Cluj to Timisoarato, and I tasted a lot of delicious and meaty Balkan food
and fruit brandy (“Rakia”) during the trip. For this trip, my route was opposite to major Syrian refugee routes and they were mostly stuck in Greece, so I did not see any. My main challenge was petty thefts and common scams in Italy, but survived without losing anything.
