I
took a 4-hr alternative tour of BELGRADE’S CREATIVE DISTRICT (starting
from 4:30 pm): from re-purposed buildings, to the many murals that have
gone up around the town, such as forgotten shopping malls, abandoned
theaters, street galleries hidden in small alleys, the creative District
of Savamala and an old brick factory turned art space (housing
festival, studios, and a hidden bar). We had beer at
the end of the tour and then bused back to city center. I probably
walked 8 miles on my flip flops today. Nevertheless, I was lucky to pick
this Belgrade Free Tour group (orange umbrella) among several groups
with similar names and fancier flyers. I suggested them to start a food
tour to further distinguish themselves.— checked in to Savamala.
