Zemun in Belgrade, Serbia

Zemun is a beautiful part of Belgrade, and it is located on the other side of the Danube. I toured this historic town Zemun on my own. It was the site of a peasant revolt. Its strategic location near the confluence of the Sava and the Danube placed it in the center of the continued border wars between the Habsburg and the Ottoman empires. The Gardoš Tower, a visual and historical symbol of Zemun, ...is also famous as the Sibinjanin Janko’s Tower or “Millennium Tower” provides great panorama views. One local encouraged me to take the bridge across to Big War Island and sit in the sand or swim in the river, but this was my last day in Belgrade and had no swim suit with me. I only walked around the charming cobble-stoned streets and had my lunch in Zemun. — checked in to Zemun.
