I jumped on a bus after breakfast, and arrived in 90 minutes. I shared a taxi with another backpacker to avoid walking steep uphill with my backpacks under hot sun. I checked in the hostel then toured the castle and an historic house. Gjirokastër Castle at the top of the hill, which was historical and geographical center of the city, the Castle is the second largest in all the Balkans, and has great views of the mountains and valleys. — checked in to Gjirokastër.

I toured the Skenduli House, aperfect example of Albanian-Ottoman architecture. It's high up the hill, has beautifully decorated rooms and great views over the city. I was guided by owner or his daughter (9th generation) in this fortress-like house of the year 1700. It has 3 floors, 6 fireplaces, a few Turkish baths, many rooms and Windows.— checked in to Gjirokastër.
