We hopped three islands today, among which I like Torcello best for its archaeological site and relaxing and peaceful country atmosphere and had lunch there. Torcello's cathedral was built in 639 and has a tall 11th century bell tower. Inside the cathedral are Byzantine mosaics from the 11th - 13th centuries. Burano Island is famous for lace, textiles and colorfully painted houses. As to the tourist trap Murano, they practiced high pressure sale of glassware and I wished I had skipped the island.— checked in to Burano Murano Torcello.
