I was planning to hike Magaro Peak (8.5 km) in Galicica National Park, yet ended up hiking another peak left side of Baba in the park overseeing Ohrid and Prespa Lakes in the southwest corner of Western Macedonia, with three hostel mates. We negotiated a taxi to take us up the the trail head (13€). We hiked alone the ridges of 7 peaks towards Ohrid then downhiller to a village to catch a bus back to town around 5 pm (~12km) and saw many amazing views. It was windy and freezing at the top of the 1st peak, so I wore a puncho to insulate heat. Then the weather turned sunny, and the air is crisp and clean, and had so many vantage points with stunning panoramic views of both Ohrid and Prespa lakes, and surrounding towns. We got lazy at the end and skipped the last peak which led to bushwhacked half of mile to get back on the trail. We ran via the village to catch the 4:10 pm bus. I was hungry and tired so I grabbed a famous falafel sandwich (1.3€) from Dr. Falafel (famous restaurant) for dinner.
