I took a free (tip-based) walking tour stating from Memorial of Mother Theresa who was born in Skopje and will be designated as a Saint in 2016. We ran into the bishop of Sarajevo. There were many interesting spots to see, such as Alexander the GREAT stature, Stone Bridge, Macedonia Square, Old Railway Station – Skopje City Museum, Kale Fortress, Sultan Murat Mosque (biggest in Balkans), etc. Skopje is the capital of Macedonia and were occupied by many different peoples as evidenced by the several Byzantine churches, monasteries around the city, Ottomans mosques, and Roman sites, such as Scupi and Skopje's Aqueduct. I accidentally stepped into an unfinished section of the Museum of Macedonia, and had a preview before it is ready for the public.

  1. Who knew that Mother Teresa is not even from India. During the 16th and 17th centuries, in particular at the height of its power under the reign of Suleiman the Magnificent, the Ottoman Empire ruled the world. A lesson to us all.
